CSA STAFF

CSAMA is pleased to count a number of scientists and technologists among us.  Some of us have had the opportunity to advanced degrees in science and/or technology.  Some of us are teachers, some engineers, some technicians. All of us are intensely interested in one or more aspect of Science and/or Technology and are anxious to share our insights regarding that specialty with those who want to know the truth about science and origins.

Here is a brief description of some of our speakers:

Kevin W. Anderson – Kevin enlisted 6 years in the US Navy in the electronics / electro mechanics field and then graduated from DeVry Institute with an associates degree in electronics and computer technology. He has been working in electronics for over 25 years. Kevin, his wife Paula and his son Nate attend Hope Lutheran Church.
Growing up in rural Kansas he studied geology in 4-H programs. Seeing a creation science presentation as an adult, rekindled his passion for geology and sparked a new interest in creation science. Now he is studying again and sharing his passion with others. He is currently studying geo-catastrophism and the nature of information in nature. His years in electronics has shown him that programs and the mechanisms that run them, do not benefit from any random errors and that random errors could not account for the massive amount of information found in DNA.

Kenneth (Ken) Carlson - Ken holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a Fuels Consulting Engineer, specializing in Electric Power Utilities, particularly coal fired facilities. He is known worldwide for his expertise in energy applications and economics. His work has taken him into coal mines and utilities around the world. Since coal mines are worldwide exhibits of the "Geologic Column," he has unique insights into the evidences for the Biblical account of creation. Currently Ken is a Power Plant and Power Plant Fuel Engineering and Economics Consultant and the owner of KC Energy Advisors, LLC. As such, he teaches classes on Fuel and Power Plant Management and Economics. Ken is a co-author of a major book on Power Plant Engineering. Ken and his wife Susan attend Colonial Presbyterian Church. Ken's Creation Science specialties include the origin of coal, the Genesis Flood, and Mount St. Helens as an illustration of the mechanisms leading to the formation of many parts of the geologic column and other striking geologic features.

Doug Dexheimer - Even growing up, Doug often participated competitively in Chicago Science Fairs in Grammar and High Schools. While a co-op student with the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago, he gained experience in sludge and methane burning technology, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He learned marine boiler and multiple fuel burner technology during a five year stint at a large Shipbuilding firm, then specialized in Instrumentation of Large Utility Power Plant Control Systems. During nearly thirty years as a Consulting Engineer he participated in the design of Coal, Oil, Gas, Nuclear, and Multi-fueled Power plants serving domestic and international plants.

In 2001, Doug took an opportunity to change his career course and to pursue his long time interest in pipe organs and their restoration. He has installed restored pipe organs and upgraded instruments in churches around the country. He helps maintain the CSA web site and helps lead most CSA Safaris. He often brings his keyboard for group sing-alongs. He is currently the organist during worship services at Overland Park First Assembly of God.

Doug is an amateur Geologist, and rock hound. He is currently participating in the honors program at the geology department of an area college.

Bob Farwell - Bob holds a B.A. in Physical Science from San Diego State University. Since 1970 Bob has taught Earth Science, Physical Science, Chemistry and Mathematics. Bob lives in Raytown with his wife Debbie and daughters Amanda, Alyssa and Nikki. They attend Beacon Freewill Baptist. His favorite hobby is fossil hunting, so he leads most of the CSA Creation Safaris where fossil hunting is involved. Bob's Creation Science specialties are Geology, the fossil record, geologic ages, dinosaurs, and the supposed evidence for human evolution.

Jim L. Henderson - Jim holds a BS in Horticulture and the MS in Biology. He has taught college classes in Biology, Botany, Cell Biology, Cell Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Horticulture. His hobbies include raising orchids, photography, classical music, and steam engines. He has participated in a number of convocations behind the "iron curtain" for hundreds of public school teachers in Albania, Bulgaria and Russia. The purpose of the convocations was to teach the teachers how to teach Christianity to their students, and to win the teachers themselves to Christ. One of Jim's specialties at the convocations is Scientific Apologetics.

Mary Jefferson - Mary holds the B.A. in Sociology from UMKC. She and her husband, Jim, attend 2nd Presbyterian Church. They have four children. With her back-ground in sociology, Mary's special interests include philosophies and world views and their impact on men and nations.

Glenn H. Kailer (Deceased) - Glenn studied Biblical Languages, Theology, Philosophy, Apologetics and personnel management at Ozark Bible College, Lincoln Christian College and Seminary, University of Kansas and Nazarene College. Glenn was ordained to the Gospel ministry in 1975 and served 12 years as a pastor. Glenn and his wife Judy homeschooled their sons Jeremy and Michael. Glenn's special interests are Age of the Earth and Cosmos, and evidence that God not only exists, but is active in Creation, Provision, and Redemption.

Lynn Lemons - Lynn went to Olivet Nazarene University where he graduated magnum cum laude in 1973 with a B.A. in religious education and a minor in history. After a short time working as a youth director at a Nazarene church in Michigan and as a carpenter in Ohio, he moved to Kansas City in 1975 and attended one semester at the Nazarene Theological Seminary. Finding a real love for church history he decided to transfer to the University of Kansas and work on a masters in Medieval history. He finish all his course work for the masters, and while writing his thesis, continued course work toward a doctorate in the same field. The impact of affirmative action convinced him, as well as several of his fellow graduate students, that the demand for white male history teachers teaching European history was waning. That fact, along with his recent marriage, persuaded him to make a drastic change of course in his vocation in 1980. In that year he decided to enter the construction field as a finish carpenter. In 1991, he moved into residential remodeling and has remained in that endeavor up to the present. He is the owner of Lynn Lemons Construction.
Lynn is married to Myra Jean Lemons and they have three children: Brendan, Maeret and Landan. His interest in history has moved from European studies to American frontier history, including such topics as frontier soldiers, native Americans, and Custer. His passion for the creation movement began in 1988 when he attended a seminar on the subject. For the first time in his life, he realized there was a substantive and logical rebuttal to evolution.

Mark Matthews - Mark holds a BS in Nuclear Engineering and serves as an environmental compliance specialist. He lives with his wife and three daughters, whom they homeschool. Mark has done some fascinating original research on the implications of the "natural nuclear reactor" at African uranium mine near Oklo. He has also done fascinating research on the true age of Bristlecone Pines claimed to be thousands of years old and on the claims of "Dendrochronology" that specialists have built a "Master Chronology" back 8,000+ years.

Calvin P. (Cal) Myers - Cal holds Ph.D. Medical Physics from University of California, L.A., M.Sc. Physics from Texas Tech University, the B.Sc. Physics from Ottawa University. He has done postgraduate work in Medical Physics at the U.S. Naval Hospital, San Diego and post doctoral training at Argonne National Laboratory. Currently Cal is a Medical Physics Consultant and Owner of  Nuclear Health Training Corporation.

With his wife Judy, Cal began homeschooling their daughters Amy and Sarah before it became fashionable, graduating Amy in 1989. Cal's Creation Science and his professional research specialty is mechanisms of damage and repair leading to mutation and transformation in mammalian cells. Cal has sought in vain for evidence for so-called macro-evolution, in a profession where millions of test animals have been deliberately subjected to enormous carcinogenic dosages.

Larry Rink - Vice-President of CSA, Larry received his B.Sc. from Kansas State. Larry and his wife Sherry homeschooled their daughter, Lindsay and son, Joshua, and attend Nall Avenue Baptist Church. Larry's hobbies include astronomy, fossil hunting, and camping. He maintains the CSA Creation Lending Library and has been active in Creation study and teaching for many years. His Creation Science specialties are astronomy, early earth history, the fossil record and the geologic column.

David J. (Dave) Unruh - Dave received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Business Administration from Kansas State University. He is currently Regional Manager for a major electrical equipment manufacturer. He and his wife Carolyn, have a son, Darren and daughter Allyson. They attend Colonial Presbyterian Church where they are active in Sunday School and the music ministry. Dave's favorite hobbies are gardening and breeding English Springer Spaniels. His Creation Science interests focus on the nature and limitations of the natural sciences, and the importance of knowledge of creation to "average people," and to the church.

Thompson F. (Tom) Willis - President of CSA, Tom received the B.Sc. in Physics and M.A. in Statistics from the University of Missouri, Columbia, where he also spent two years as a Research Consultant in Statistics and Numerical Analysis at the Computer Research Center. For the next ten years he continued to work largely with university research, mostly as a Senior Systems Engineer in Information Systems. He left his "city job" via "early retirement" in 1987 to free himself for more time in Creation work. Tom and his wife Penny homeschool their children, David, Joshua, and Grace. At this writing, David and Josh are in college.

Tom researches in and speaks on The Nature and Philosophy of Science, the Origin of Life, Kinds and Man, Geology, Dinosaurs, the Ice Age, the Genesis Flood, purported Human Evolution, Radiometric Dating and the Age of the Earth.. Because of his background, he also does work in methods of age dating, the velocity of light, physics, and related topics. Tom was a leader in the notorious "Kansas Science Standards War" as well as being a long term leader in Creation Science in the Midwest. As such, Tom has been featured in interviews and articles by many international media outlets including Reuters, BBC, New Scientist, Geo (the "European National Geographic"), 20-20, CBS, NBC, NPR, and, of course local radio and TV as well as print media like the Kansas City Star and Lawrence Journal World.

Tom has written two books, Real Scientists Just Say NO! (To Evolution) and The Origin of Caves, and has co-authored with David Brown, Ape Men - Science or Myth? He has a standing offer to debate any evolutionist (or evolutionists) in the world on subjects like "Creation or Evolution - Which is Science, Which is Myth?"
